Windows With Smiles: Melbourne Choir

It is my belief that everything you need to know about the world can be learned in a choir.

It’s late on a Thursday and light is glowing from a Uniting Church hall in Moorabbin …

The song Windows with Smiles is the first ever professionally produced song and music video by Pop Choir Australia. Windows with Smiles features 350 amazing Pop Choir members who recorded their parts at the iconic Iwaki auditorium in Melbourne, the home to Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

The song was produced by the renowned music producer Simon Moro and was designed by Pop Choir to try and raise awareness and vital funds for the charity the Lighthouse Foundation, who are on a mission to end youth homelessness in Australia.

We invite you to donate to the Lighthouse Foundation fundraising page, which was set up for the making of this record by Pop Choir. Please click on the button below to donate. Every little helps and Pop Choir would personally like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any action taken to try and help the cause. Even the simple act of sharng this video will help go a long way to spreading the message of the Lighthouse Foundation …

The video depicts Pop Choir member Eleanor Chadwick walking alone through the CBD and reuniting with the choir outside the foundation’s Cremorne headquarters.

Chadwick said the single made her realise she is lucky to have loved ones and a roof over her head.
She suffers from anxiety and says the choir makes her feel part of a big community…

Choral music is not one of life’s frills. It’s something that goes to the very heart of our humanity, our sense of community, and our souls. You express, when you sing, your soul in song. And when you get together with a group of other singers, it becomes more than the sum of the parts. All of those people are pouring out their hearts and souls in perfect harmony, which is kind of an emblem for what we need in this world, when so much of the world is at odds with itself…that just to express, in symbolic terms, what it’s like when human beings are in harmony. That’s a lesson for our times and for all time. I profoundly believe that.

I will be blunt, the first time I sang in the church choir in Vrbov two hundred people changed their religion.
