K2 has a problem....similar to Everest record breaking permits are being issued causing more and more climbers to be on the mountain.

With an increasing number of mountaineers, it has caused long lines and waste being left behind, increasing the risk for those still attempting to take on one of the most dangerous climbs in the world.

When Australian Matthew Eakin took on the challenge of K2, his life would never be the same....this is his story.

In the middle of the journey of our life, when we begin to start to feel the weight of the crimes we are hauling behind us, we might turn to literature for wisdom. It is not readily available, but I have always found it in Leo Tolstoy and his War & Peace. Both Tolstoy’s The Death of Ivan Ilyich and Confession demand that readers reflect on what the inevitability of death means to us, and on how we shall face our own end.

I also won’t pretend to understand why in the middle of the night some of the deep and stirring quotes and manifestos came to me. Why do I oppose communism and fascism?
