Nine British Banks Sign Up to New AI Tool for Tackling ScamsBloomberg [alt free link]: “Mastercard Inc. is selling a new artificial intelligence-powered tool that helps banks more effectively spot if their customers are trying to send money to fraudsters.

Nine of the UK’s biggest banks, including Lloyds Banking Group PlcNatwest Group Plc and Bank of Scotland Plc, have signed up to use the Consumer Fraud Risk system, Mastercard told Bloomberg News. Methods and madness

Let’s kick off with a couple of modernist houses for sale, old and new: The Dragons, and Willoughby Roadthe story of MIDI / ‘Cold Lazarus TV spaceship propsits in Leighton Buzzard front garden’ / snarky riposte to the Wes Anderfication of everything / Headless Pigeons & Ecstasy Wrappers, ranting about rave coverage / more Line-bashing, the antithesis to the 15-minute city: ‘If we randomly pick two people in The Line, they will be on average 57km apart. In Johannesburg, which is 50 times larger in area, two random people are only 33km apart. Assuming a walking distance of one kilometre, only 1.2% of the population is within walking distance from each other. This hinders active mobility, so people will depend on public transport.’ / a fun game with old footage of the capital: The Great When, ‘A London-through-time quiz’ (via b3ta) / the late Mr Brenton Pink, creator of an extraordinary house and garden on Loampit Hill / the legacy of Lucy M.
