Lost for Words: On the Road Again

“I saw that you were perfect, and so I loved you. Then I saw that you were not perfect and I loved you even more.”

Big Fat Sikh Greek Wedding - from Holy Friday - The Anand Karaj

Why you (probably) won’t finish reading this story Vox: “We live in a distracted world, almost certainly the most distracted world in human history. And if you’re part of this circus, you’re drowning in options and gadgets and screens and you’re being pulled in a million directions seemingly all at once. If you spend any time online, you already know this. You’re constantly stalked by advertisers and product peddlers, and your attention is constantly being harvested and sold. That’s the business model of Big Tech. ..

Our Nissan NXR clocked over 180,000 km  and Mazda Tribute showed 278,000 km and now Lexus RX 200T is showing 92,000 km. Our drive around Tasmania and to and from Central Australia and Northern Territory as well as North Queensland are peppered with thousands of memories that are engrained in our hearts ♥️  ♥️

There is a road or a window you might not know about. They  will not be open long, and when they close,  they might stay that way for ever. Journeys are what is through that window: a chance to see Albury in winter without hordes of other people sapping the serenity and getting in your photos.

Our latest journey is taking us to South Australia, but we are avoiding any potential Snowtowns on the way.

The destination of this journey will take us  to the BIG Sikh and Greek wedding.

“You’ve gotta dance like there’s nobody watching, Love like you’ll never be hurt, Sing like there’s nobody listening, And live like it’s heaven on earth.”

The diverse yet strange beauty of Australian landscapes has to be seen to be believed.

The memories of Henna night flood in whenever I think of our wedding as well as the memories of my arrival as a political refugee hit me as 8th September 1980 feel as if it related to someone who is  stranger rather than me. It is amazing how time flies and how it changes realities …

We will be sharing the road trip with the newly wed, Saloni and Yannii, as there is a simple joy in exploring the multitude of landscapes as the panoramic views shift from NSW to Victorian to South Australian landscapes …

As the crow flies, the distance between Villa of Matra to Adelaide is roughly 1100 km. Google tells us that there are more than 170 distinctive points of interest along the way and hundreds of activities if that is what floats your fancy. The Lonely Planet …

With world-class National Parks, unrivalled wine regions and beaches that put those of the Greek Islands to shame, South Australia offers one of the most exciting and unique landscapes on the planet. But despite its beauty, SA, it’s nature and cuisine, has been somewhat of a well-kept secret to tourists. Until now.
