In case you're wondering, indeed, I overdid it, though not drastically, and definitely not according to the lunatic standards of my pre-escape iron curtain days. In a nutshell, can I catch an anonymous coward who writes malicious reviews on Amazon? My only clue are the two messages left on the web at Amazon and also at Naked Conversation. Can I stop a vicious character before my book becomes his next victim ? Anonymity is like ringing someone's doorbell and running. As one mate told me: ‘Listen up, it is your book and you can be in charge’. So I'm thinking of buying the rights to the Elton John song I'm Still Standing

In the middle of the journey of our life, when we begin to start to feel the weight of the crimes we are hauling behind us, we might turn to literature for wisdom. It is not readily available, but I have always found it in Leo Tolstoy and his War & Peace. Both Tolstoy’s The Death of Ivan Ilyich and Confession demand that readers reflect on what the inevitability of death means to us, and on how we shall face our own end.

I also won’t pretend to understand why in the middle of the night some of the deep and stirring quotes and manifestos came to me. Why do I oppose communism and fascism? Because they will eventually come for you. That’s why. The loser like me is strong because he has nothing left to lose. We are afraid of losing what we have attained, because it is not secure. neither morally nor financially.
