Global Emotions Report 2022

LONGEVITY: Drug that increases human lifespan to 200 years is in the works. “Taken in pill form, the drug would eliminate cells in the human body that are responsible for advancing the ageing process – potentially doubling our lifespan. But is this desirable?”

MARK STEYN ON BORIS JOHNSON: The Long Goodbye.

Boris elevated his sibling to the House of Lords, since when Jo Johnson has been entirely forgotten – and within three months of that devastating loss the older Johnson had won an amazing victory:

Whatever one feels about Boris Johnson (and almost any one who’s had any truck with the man has, if he’s honest, highly mixed views) today’s election is a spectacular triumph for him. On the day Andrew Scheer, the Canadian Tory leader, announced he would be stepping down, the UK Tory leader led his party to their biggest share of the vote in half-a-century and swiped seats held by Labour since 1935 – from Blythe Valley to Bishop Auckland. Both Scheer and Johnson are unprincipled opportunists, but the latter is a fighter who knows how to return the ball and swat it down the opposition’s gullet.

Gallup’s Global Emotions Report 2022

“Gallup’s annual Global Emotions Reportmeasures people’s positive and negative experiences worldwide, giving leaders insights into the emotional health of their societies, which traditional economic indicators don’t capture. In 2021, people worldwide felt more worried, stressed and sad than at any time in the past 16 years. They also had fewer positive experiences than they did in 2020.

28% of people said they experienced a lot of sadness the previous day, the highest percentage ever recorded. 42% of people said they experienced a lot of worry the previous day, up from 40% in 2020.

Why are emotions important in our daily lives?

New LinkedIn Feature – How to add a URL to your profile

National Law Review: “Here’s a new LinkedIn feature you may not know about: You can now add an external clickable URL link in the top area/introductory section of your profile. It’s a visible and easy way to include a link to your website or your Linktree (a tool that allows you to share multiple links on social media from one URL), promote your blog or podcast, a webinar or obtain subscribers for your email list. The link will appear in the introduction section, beneath your user name and description and above your number of followers and connections. You can update the link as often as you want, which enables you to promote an upcoming webinar, event or piece of content. FYI you must have Creator Mode turned on to use this feature. Previously you could add three websites to your contact information section, which you can still do. It’s just that it’s not that easy to find information there

  • Go the extra mile and add this to your LinkedIn profile. And while you’re at it, add your website URL to your LinkedIn cover image too as well as your email address. Customizing your cover image with your contact information is a strategic way to encourage people to reach out to you. Here’s an article on how to create a stronger LinkedIn cover image…”
