Garden for Birds is a U.S./Canada-focused, bird-friendly gardening initiative started in 2024. We engage people in science-to-action practices at home and in our communities to create native plant, bird-friendly habitats that better support birds and biodiversity.
Everyone has the capacity to take meaningful actions to help reverse bird declines. When you make the choice to add native plants and habitat features, you infuse hope in a better future for birds and biodiversity.

See also MarylandBirds.org – The Maryland Bird Conservation Partnership (MBCP) connects birds, habitats, and people to create conditions for birds to flourish in Maryland. MBCP partners with other leading wildlife conservation organizations to implement bird conservation programs. Through Bird City Maryland, MBCP recognizes and encourages communities that implement sound bird conservation practices.
Through its Farmland Raptor Program, MBCP works with landowners to install and monitor nest boxes for barn owls and American kestrels. MBCP engages volunteers to collect data on the status of birds across the state of Maryland, and then we analyze and publish that data to help the conservation community make sound decisions about next steps in bird conservation. MBCP brings people together to give birds more opportunities to thrive in Maryland.

Bird Safe NOVA is a local partnership of conservation organizations that focuses on reducing the hazards to birds from light pollution and collisions with windows and other reflective surfaces. – Northern Virginia Bird Alliance (NVBA), Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy, Nature Forward, DarkSky NOVA, DarkSky Virginia, Friends of Dyke Marsh, Friends of Little Hunting Creek and Friends of Huntley Meadows Park work together on this important initiative. This recorded program discusses ways you can help reduce risks to migrating birds created by light pollution and window collisions.
