Parking fines of $200 that were issued to hundreds of people who attended the Anzac Day dawn service in Kings Park on Wednesday will not be enforced, the City of Perth says.

It is not readily available, but I have always found it in Leo Tolstoy and his War & Peace. Both Tolstoy’s The Death of Ivan Ilyich and Confession demand that readers reflect on what the inevitability of death means to us, and on how we shall face our own end.

I also won’t pretend to understand why in the middle of the night some of the deep and stirring quotes and manifestos came to me. Why do I oppose communism and fascism?
