Vale Tax Justice Heroine Rebecca Wilkins

The tax justice movement has lost a treasured colleague and friend. Rebecca Wilkins, of razor-sharp intellect and with a powerful gift for tax justice advocacy, passed away on Sunday 14 February 2016, the day Media Dragon's dad was born over hundred years ago.

Young Rebecca never put it as plainly as my old man, but she knew what he really meant by suggesting that "Big Thieves always hang the little theives" and few observations are closer to the bone than dad's especially when it comes to tax justice ...

It is not readily available, but I have always found it in Leo Tolstoy and his War & Peace. Both Tolstoy’s The Death of Ivan Ilyich and Confession demand that readers reflect on what the inevitability of death means to us, and on how we shall face our own end.

I also won’t pretend to understand why in the middle of the night some of the deep and stirring quotes and manifestos came to me. Why do I oppose communism and fascism?
