Fraud thought of the week -- Fake websites: Scammers have a huge industry employing websites that look very professional and trustworthy, but actually further their scams. These are often employed with pet scams, online sales of counterfeit or nonexistent goods, crypto investment frauds, and many others. Where do these come from and who develops them? Can law enforcement identify these and remove them? Some good work in this area has been done by AA419 and by ScamAdvisors, but some education on this topic would surely benefit both enforcers and the public.
