Cherished son of Michael (dec) and Lynne. Much loved and precious husband of Laura. Adored and devoted father of Michael, Paulie and Orla.

Beloved brother of Fiona and Allison. Andrew was an accomplished and highly respected Town Planner who will be sadly missed by his many colleagues, friends and clients. He is deeply loved and will never be forgotten.

Family and friends of ANDREW are invited to attend a Funeral Service to celebrate his life at the North Bondi Surf Lifesaving Club (266 Campbell Parade, North Bondi) on FRIDAY 2nd August 2024 at 2.00pm.

It is with great sadness that I share the news that my husband, Andrew, passed away on Monday. He was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease 14 months ago, but showed symptoms long before.

He chose to fight the battle his way, to ignore it and just get on with living. He was incredibly brave. He found great comfort in painting each day and I loved, after endless years of working too hard, that creativity was what gave him joy in the end. Andrew, after all, had always encouraged my photography. There are countless memories of travelling, renovating our beach house, working together and walking up the street for a coffee each morning.

But I can say, without hesitation, his greatest joy was watching his 3 children grow up. His family meant everything.

I am relieved he is now at peace. XXX

It is not readily available, but I have always found it in Leo Tolstoy and his War & Peace. I also won’t pretend to understand why in the middle of the night some of the deep and stirring quotes and manifestos came to me. Why do I oppose communism and fascism?
