Hope

Fuelled by hope as well as desperation
Unless you are a voracious reader of the news, these were two stories you may well have missed. One is about a warm friendly dog and another is about a cold desperate mother.

I was saved by Bessie (German Shepherd) exactly 23 years ago and right now I am reading about a two years old toddler who was saved by Bear (another German Shepherd). Hits of happy stories in our reading lives are constantly reminded of unhappy tales somewhere on the next page. Stories involving symbols of love, mothers, can sometimes contain deeply disturbing signs of desperation.
Boy! was mother Czechoslovakia desperate to drown me 23 years ago!

God is the singer, Miriam Therese tells us in her memoir, and we are the song.
