With more than four decades in the entertainment industry, Baz Luhrmann has created some of the 21st century's most spectacular films.
And with blockbusters like Strictly Ballroom, Romeo and Juliet, Moulin Rouge, and this year's Elvis, the recently turned 60-year-old has no plans to slow down.
He told Today Extra there is one specific thing he looks for when deciding on a new project.
When I look at it I go 'how can this be my next great adventure,'" Luhrmann told Today Extra.
"How can I immediately make this an adventure in my life?"
And what an adventure Luhrmann continues to have.
On top of the major motion picture extravaganzas he creates, the director continues to throw multiple side projects into his already brimming schedule .
Luhrmann has all but assured an extended Britney Spears, Elvis mash-up is in the works after the pop star's song 'Toxic' was sampled with 'Viva Las Vegas' in his biopic on the king of rock and roll.
The series is inspired by the rise and fall of Antonio Marcos van der P. and Enise B., renamed Bonnie and Clyde in the press, who captivated the whole of the Netherlands for two weeks in February 2014.
