That’s what Nicholas Enrich, a longtime civil servant at the U.S. Agency for International Development, has done with his insider account of the dismantling of USAID. Appropriately titled, Into the Wood Chipper the book pulls no punches regarding what the author describes as a lethal mixture of incompetence and indifference. Can’t miss this one.

I also won’t pretend to understand why in the middle of the night some of the deep and stirring quotes and manifestos came to me. Why do I oppose communism and fascism? We are afraid of losing what we have attained, because it is not secure. neither morally nor financially.
