The Obama Presidential Center

President Barack Obama takes the stage with a very pointed message about the current political climate under Trump. “I do not believe that is the story of America that prevails in the end.”

President Obama on the message of the 250th: "In a newly independent US, there will be no kings"

“The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.”

President Obama: "No one is above the law or beneath its protection." "Our military and law enforcement owe allegiance not to any president or political party, but to the people and our Constitution."

"As algorithms keep feeding us a steady stream of distraction and outrage, as only the loudest most extreme voices get attention, fanning our prejudices, appealing to our basest most tribal instincts, it's tempting to give in to cynicism and even despair, to stop trying."

Michelle Obama just delivered one of the best speeches I’ve ever heard. She upheld her husband’s legacy, defended the dignity of all people, appealed to our better angels, & reminded us of the America that we could be.

Michelle Obama: "We simply don't have the luxury or time to be cynical or complacent. To ring our hands in despair. To wait for someone else to fix the problem. Y'all, hope is all we have. Because hope is the essential spark that lights the fire of change…" What a contrast to the depravity occupying the White House.

8-years in the crucible, and not once did you melt from the heat. Not once did you let it harden you. Instead, you used it to reveal your truest essence. Your stubborn optimism, and unflinching courage...an absolutely unshakable moral fiber.”―Michelle Obama speaks about her husband, Barack
