Two decades of MEdia Dragon 🐉 and Blogging

Though obituaries were written long ago, MEdia Dragons 🐉  🐉 not only survives but thrives. Since 1982, Bouncing Czechs and MEdia Dragons  have linked to thousands and thousands of punchy assessments, stories, webdiary comments, articles, quotes, book reviews, poems and essays at NSW Legislature and Mac computer and other internet revenue related forums and yammers.

In all seriousness, this kind of advice makes my heart hurt in my chest. Take the extra time to write briefly? Rewrite sentences six time? Put things away for a month and return to them? Bang away at the keyboard on whatever turns up? Far too many trivial tasks for small returns? Wobbled around the point instead of hunting for six well-chosen words? Many of these blog posts are knocked out an hour before bedtime, and I often don't reread even once before clicking on "Publish."

I cannot tell you how truly happy I am with your letter and the book you sent. In case you think I am exaggerating I can assure you that in a contemplative monastery where people are supposed to see things clearly it sometimes becomes very difficult to see anything straight. It is so terribly easy to get yourself into some kind of a rut in which you distort every issue with your own blind bad habits--for instance rushing to finish a chapter before the bell rings and you will have to go and do something else.

It has been quite humiliating for me to find that my out (from Graves and Hodge) that my own bad habits are the same as those of every other second-rate writer outside the monastery. The same haste, distraction, etc. .... On the whole I think my haste is just as immoral as anyone else's and comes from the same selfish desire to get quick results with a small amount of effort. In the end, the whole question is largely an ascetic one!  .....

It is hard to believe that in June 2012 (MMXII AD) the Media Dragon turned Ten (10) a decade aka X and in 2022 is hit two kisses XX

It's also not difficult to argue that blogging has done more to spread knowledge and ideas than any other publishing innovation since the printing press. These collectors cobbled together an investment of $91.8 million. It is the only one of the top sellers to be purchased by a samizdat group rather than an individual.

This is so surreal in both the sense where it feels like a lot longer and like I started yesterday.

One little blog post is nothing on its own, but publish a thousand blog posts over a decade, and it turns into your life’s work. This blog has been my sketchbook, my studio, my gallery, my storefront, and my salon. Absolutely everything good that has happened in my career can be traced back in some way to this blog. My books, my art shows, my speaking gigs, some of my best friendships—they all exist because I have my own little piece of turf on the Internet.

I started this blog on June 12th 2002—twenty years ago today! To celebrate two decades of blogging, I decided to pull together some highlights and dive down a self-indulgent nostalgia hole.
