Vale Heather Croxon, 31: Tragic Death of A Young Soul

With the current US President’s recent actions regarding immigrants and refugees, The German Girl is super relevant. It’s a timely reminder of what happens when people are turned away. Heather at bitsnbooks The Last Review: The German Girl

A woman who was struck by a car as she walked along a footpath on Sydney's north shore last week has died in hospital, five days after suffering critical head injuries in the horrific peak-hour crash. Heather Croxon's family was by the 31-year-old's side in Royal North Shore Hospital's intensive care unit when she died on Wednesday, following the crash outside Chatswood Chase shopping centre on Friday morning.
"Unfortunately things don't always work out the way we planned," Ms Croxon's sister, Amanda, posted online in a moving tribute to her big sister late on Wednesday.
"Today I said goodbye to my beautiful big sister who, as I held her hand, she took her last breath and passed on peacefully."

Ms Croxon, a popular blogger who has a considerable online following for her book reviews, was walking to work along the footpath on Victoria Avenue in Chatswood when a Toyota sedan mounted the kerb and clipped a pram before hitting her.
Witnesses rushed to help Ms Croxon, who was knocked unconscious and suffered critical injuries in the crash. The child in the pram was not injured.

Well the final ep of #RillingtonPlace was suitably horrifying. No fictional villain will ever be worse than the villains of real life.

RE:2015 book covers

That cover is very pretty - I think I like the US version though. It's very bookish. And you're right - the book is amazing! Probably one of the best new releases this year; I think it'll be popular for book clubs.

I was in Dymocks a couple of weeks ago and picked up a copy of Louis de Bernieres new novel. I didn't even bother looking at the title and author at first - I just immediately gravitated to the cover. Thankfullly the inside was just as amazing as the outside!
