Politics Laurie Brereton: Keep us out of Bush's war on Iraq

IT'S often observed that Saddam Hussein and Iraq are "unfinished business" for the Bush administration.
Having recently returned from the US, I must say I'm appalled by the poverty of debate on this issue – both in the media and the federal parliament. The Howard Government will support whatever action the US takes. The old phrase ‘all the way with LBJ’ once again has resonance.

Former Bush Writer's Book Offers Dim Insider's View
Matt Drudge provides a somewhat uncharacteristic push for former Bush speechwriter David Frum's forthcoming THE RIGHT MAN: The Surprise Presidency of George W. Bush. Quoting from an advance copy, Drudge cites these assessments: the Bush White House has a ’dearth of really high-powered brains’; ’One seldom heard an unexpected thought in the Bush White House or met someone who possessed unusual knowledge’; ‘Bush was a sharp exception to the White House code of niceness. He was tart, not sweet’; He ‘was hardly the obvious man for the job. But by a very strange fate, he turned out to be, of all unlikely things, the right man.’ Frum is said to be scheduled for a Today Show appearance on Tuesday.
